Once you begin your workout, metrics will instantly appear. Here's how to confirm if your gadget is displaying them.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, launch the fitness app.
  2. Choose the exercise you want to perform.
  3. Select the AirPlay icon on the bottom right of the screen before pushing Play.
  4. Choose a device from the Video & Metrics section.
  5. Once chosen, choose to start your workout.
  6. Your smartphone will begin counting down before the exercise.
  7. Your AirPlay 2 device should now display your stats.

When the AirPlay menu is opened, there are three options to select from:

  • Video & Metrics: During your workout, the video and stats feature displays your health metrics.
  • Video: No data are displayed; only the workout video is displayed.
  • Audio: Casts only the video's audio to an AirPlay 2 speaker.

If your device does not appear under the Video & Metrics tab in the AirPlay menu, either the software supporting workouts with metrics is not yet installed on your device, or an update has not yet been released.

By pressing the Metrics icon (next to the AirPlay icon) on the lower right of the screen and turning off the button next to Show Metrics, you can disable metrics.

Operating systems and devices that are supported

There are various ways to check if a television supports AirPlay 2, which is only supported by a select few.

Even if your Apple Watch is not upgraded to watchOS 9, stats for your workouts will appear automatically if you have an Apple TV that supports AirPlay 2.

Look for a logo on the box that either says "Works with Apple Home," "Works with Apple AirPlay," or a Matter logo when looking to buy a television that supports AirPlay 2. When performing a Fitness+ workout, you ought to be able to see stats on any boxes that bear such logos or tags.

The most recent software for your television, iOS 16, watchOS 9, and iPadOS 16 should all be installed on your devices.

Shut your rings.

Allowing metrics to be displayed on AirPlay 2 devices is a fantastic method for more people to quickly learn more about their exercises.

Additionally, it enables more users to access functionality on less expensive streaming devices that were previously exclusively available on native Apple products.

Anyone with an iPhone can purchase Apple Fitness+ for $9.99 per month or $79.99 annually. Through Family Sharing, you can distribute a subscription to up to five individuals.
